About

“Let there rise from amongst you group(s) who invite others to the khair(Islam), command the good, and forbid the evil, and they are the ones who are successful.” [TMQ 3:104]

It is based upon this verse in the Qur’an that we, the Islamic Thinkers Society have based ourselves upon. We are a global organization following Ahl us-Sunnah wal jama’ah, who invite others to Islam from the Ideological perspective which is to invite to the Aqeedah(belief, Tawheed, Imaan) as well as to the shahriah(system, rules, commandments) as this is what is being meant in the ayah when Allah s.w.t. uses the word “khair”. Alhamdulillah our numbers are growing day by day as more Muslims are realizing their obligations towards their Creator.

Our da’wah activities take place mainly in the streets of Times Square, Jackson Heights, and Astoria, NYC where we give out leaflets and hold posters/banners covering all types of issues relating from spiritual, social, economical, to political issues. This methodology was adopted from the seerah(lifestyle) of the prophet Muhammad s.a.w. where he along with the sahabas(companions) would constantly night and day exhaust all their efforts to give da’wah to the Makkan society to invite them to the Tawheed(onenness in worship & reverence)of Allah s.w.t. where they would rationally challenge the belief as well as the dominant corrupt system that ruled over them that allowed them to think in this manner. They would command what Allah s.w.t. revealed to them was good which was missing in the present society whether in the belief or the system, and they would forbid the evil which was present in the society, whether it was in the belief or in the system. They would culture themselves from the wisdom of the Qur’an and then they would go to the streets to convey the message in a simultaneous manner. This is exactly what we do since Islam is complete. We culture ourselves about Islam, while giving da’wah on the street simultaneously.

Our Aim

“I have not created Jinn nor man except for the sole purpose of ibadah” [TMQ 51:56]

“Truly, my prayer, my sacrifice, my life and my death are all for Allah the Cherisher of the Worlds” [TMQ 6:162]

“Say: If it be that your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your mates, or your kindred; the wealth that ye have gained; the commerce in which ye fear a decline: or the dwellings in which ye delight – are dearer to you than Allah, or His Messenger, or the striving in His cause;- then wait until Allah brings about His decision: and Allah guides not the rebellious. “[TMQ 9:24]

Reflecting on these verses, our aim is the aim of any Muslim, which is to please Allah s.w.t. in acts of ibadah. That is to say that we submit, obey, follow & ritually worship Allah s.w.t. only & exclusively in every aspect. This is what Allah s.w.t. has created us for. We do every single action with ikhlas(sincerety)

Our Objective

“This day, I have perfected your religion for you, and completed my Favor upon you, and have chosen for you Al-Islam as your Deen.” [TMQ 5:3]

“So judge between them by whatever Allah has revealed, and follow not their desires, but beware of them lest they seduce you from even some part of that which Allah revealed to you” [TMQ 5:49]
Our objective is to resume the Islamic way of life to which will fulfill the purpose of the aim. Our objective is to bring back the apparatus that was destroyed in 1924 i.e. Khilafah. Indeed it was the Khilafah that united the Muslim Ummah under one flag, one land, one border, and one leader. It was the Khilafah which served as the appartus to make sure that Tawheed manifested in all ascpect in the Muslim Ummah’s affairs. Surely, anyone who accepts any other system than Allah’s Shari’ah is worshipping the one who has put his laws in place of the laws of Allah. This is a major form of shirk and anyone who commits a major shirk has left Islam.

Imam Al-Qurtubi said in his Tafseer of the verse, “Indeed, man is made upon this earth a Khaleefah“. [2:30]

“This ayah is a source in the selection of an Imaam, and a Khaleefah, he is listened to and he is obeyed, for the word in united through him, and the Ahkam(laws) of the Khaleefah are implemented through him, and there is no difference regarding the obligation of that between the Ummah, nor between the Imams except what is narrated about Al-Asam, the Mu’tazzili(A deviant group).”

Imam al-Qurtubi also said:
“The Khilafah is the pillar upon which other Pillars rest” [Tafseer al-Qurtubi 264/1]

One of the greatest scholars of Islam who received the title Sheikh-ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said:
It is obligatory to know that the office in charge of commanding over the people (i.e. The Khilafah Post) is one of the the greatest obligations of the Deen. In fact, there is no establishment of the Deen except by it (The Khilafah)…
[Siyaasah Shar’iyyah – Chapter: ‘The obligation of adherence of the leadership’]

Having given these few evidences, is just to show the importance of having an Islamic State where it will serve as the mechanism to protect & nurture the Muslim Ummah with the correct understanding as well as the correct practicality of Tawheed. This all goes towards purifying Tawheed as well as fulfilling the aim of every Muslim which is to do ibadah to Allah s.w.t. This is what we, as part of Islamic Thinkers Society strive for. To create the ideal Islamic society, where the furqan(criterion) for the individuals as well as the rulers will be the Qur’an & Sunnah and the Qur’an & Sunnah only. As always, our struggle is intellectual & political. To us, this is a matter of life & death. A matter of jannah & jahannam. It requires seriousness, dedication, & sabr.

“I swear by the declining day, verily! Man is in loss, Except those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth (i.e. order one another to perform all kinds of good deeds (Al-Ma’roof)which Allah has ordained, and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds (Al-Munkar)which Allâh has forbidden), and recommend one another to persevere(for the sufferings, harms, and injuries which one may encounter in Allah’s Cause during preaching the Deen of Tawheed or Jihad, etc.).
