"My view is that the United
States' special relationship with Israel obligates us to be helpful to them in the search for credible partners with
whom they can make peace, while also supporting
Israel in defending itself against enemies sworn to its destruction,"
"We must preserve our total
commitment to our unique defense
relationship with Israel by fully funding military assistance and
continuing work on the Arrow and related missile defense programs. This would help Israel maintain its military edge and deter
and repel attacks from as far as Tehran and as close as Gaza."
Obama took time from his campaign to
air out concerns with about 100 Jewish leaders in Cleveland, assuring them of
"an unshakable commitment to the security of Israel and the friendship
between the United States and Israel."
After the meeting, Rabbi Michael Lerner, editor of the liberal Jewish magazine
Tikkun, issued a statement declaring that Obama "has been very successful
. . . in reassuring the bulk of American Jews that the innuendoes and overt
attacks on his alleged hostility to or indifference to the well-being of Israel
are false."
Speaking to the American Israel
Public Affairs Committee on March 2, 2007, Obama called Israel "our strongest ally in the region,"
and stated: "We must preserve our total commitment to our unique defense
relationship with Israel by fully funding military assistance and continuing
work on the Arrow and related missile defense programs." On the
Palestinian Authority's new unity government, Obama said: "We should all
be concerned about the agreement negotiated among Palestinians in Mecca last
month."
In June 2008, Obama became the first
presidential candidate ever to publicly back the traditional Israeli position
that Jerusalem remain forever undivided under Israel rule. "Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain
undivided," Obama declared on June 4, 2008.[174][175] Days later, he
said, "obviously, it's going to be up to the parties to negotiate a range
of these issues. And Jerusalem will be part of those negotiations."
On a July 2008 world tour focused on
trouble spots for U.S. national security interests, Obama met with Israeli
president Shimon Peres, prime minister Ehud Olmert, opposition party leader
Benjamin Netanyahu, and Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas and prime
minister Salam Fayyad. Obama reiterated that Jerusalem should be the capital of
Israel, but that territorial disputes regarding that city and elsewhere needed
to be resolved without direct U.S. involvement. "That's an issue that has to
be dealt with by the parties involved, the Palestinians and the Israelis, and
it is not the job of the United States to dictate the form in which that will
take, but rather to support the efforts that are being made right now to
resolve these very difficult issues that have a long history." On the same
trip, Obama said, "The state of Israel faces determined enemies who seek
its destruction, but it also has a
friend and ally in the United States that will always stand by the people of
Israel."
Obama's selection for his
Vice-Presidential candidate, Joe Biden, has stressed that Obama is strongly
pro-Israel. In a speech in September 2008, Biden stated "I am chairman of
the Foreign Relations Committee. I give you my word as a Biden, I would not
have given up that job to be Barack Obama's vice president if I didn't in my
gut and in my heart and in my head know that Barack Obama is exactly where I am
on Israel. And he is...I promise you ...
we will make [Israel] more secure."
Referring to the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict in January 2006, Obama denounced Hamas while praising former Prime
Minister of Israel Ariel Sharon. At a meeting with then Israeli Foreign
Minister Silvan Shalom on the eve of Hamas' sweeping election victory,[179]
Obama stated that Sharon's role in the conflict had always been "absolutely important and
constructive."
Ensure a Strong U.S.-Israel Partnership: Barack
Obama and Joe Biden strongly support the U.S.-Israel relationship, believe
that our first and incontrovertible commitment in the Middle East must be
to the security of Israel,
America's strongest ally in the Middle East. They support this closeness,
stating that that the United States
would never distance itself from Israel.
Support Israel's Right to Self Defense: During
the July 2006 Lebanon war, Barack Obama stood up strongly for Israel's
right to defend itself from Hezbollah raids and rocket attacks,
cosponsoring a Senate resolution against Iran and Syria's involvement in
the war, and insisting that Israel should not be pressured into a
ceasefire that did not deal with the threat of Hezbollah missiles. He and
Joe Biden believe strongly in Israel's right to protect its citizens.
Support
Foreign Assistance to Israel: Barack Obama and Joe Biden have
consistently supported foreign assistance to Israel. They defend and
support the annual foreign aid package that involves both military and economic assistance to Israel and have
advocated increased foreign aid
budgets to ensure that these funding priorities are met. They have
called for continuing U.S. cooperation with Israel in the development of missile defense systems.
ON IRAN, Obama's position is firm.
He said to AIPAC that "there is no greater threat to Israel - or to the
peace and stability of the region - than Iran... The danger from Iran is grave,
it is real and my goal will be to eliminate this threat... We will also use all
elements of American power to pressure Iran. I will do everything in my power
to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon." He added for emphasis,
"Everything in my power. Everything."
Lee Rosenberg, a member of AIPAC's
national board, said: "I've known Barack Obama for eight years. Throughout
that experience, including travels together to Israel, he has always been a friend of Israel." He suggested that suspicion
of Mr Obama among some Jewish groups was because "people don't know him
properly yet".
Mr Obama's campaign said that this was a distortion of his record, adding:
"John McCain stubbornly insists on continuing a failed foreign policy that
has clearly made the US and Israel less secure."

Many people
today confuse and misunderstand the topic of taqleed (imitating). Some,
knowingly or unknowingly, have even gone as far as denying and
condemning all forms of taqleed.
FOILED ATTEMPT TO ASSASSINATE SHEIKH OMAR BAKRI MUHAMMAD
Press Release Dated 1st Ramadhan 1429 or 1st September 2008. Electronic
devices designed to monitor the movements of Sheikh Omar, including a
remote controlled explosive device capable of being detonated at a
distance and weighing 1.5kg, were recently discovered.
Further
information has exposed the underhand tactics of the British regime
whose officers violated the sanctity of Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammad’s
Lebanese apartment in Beirut-Doha by entering his flat without his
permission. Using their own freshly made key, the intruders installed
audio and visual surveillance devices in the Sheikh’s home, not to
mention blatantly stealing personal and confidential documents,
including his passport.
Some
details of this sinister plot have been verified such as that the
British officers were sent by the British government via the British
embassy and that they had rented an apartment above Sheikh Omar’s
apartment for surveillance purposes. The Sheikh declined to comment on
whether his source gave specific personal details of the British agents.
Sheikh
Omar Bakri Mohammad is a prominent scholar in the Muslim world today
for his uncompromising stance on the vital issues which affect the
Muslim world. He is recognized as one of the leading figures struggling
against the British crusade against Islam and Muslims. The attack
against Sheikh Omar and those who struggle against manmade laws and
struggle to liberate Muslim land, calling for the establishment of the
Shari’ah is inherent in British government policy. This has manifested
itself in the British government’s hand in the destruction of the
Khilafah in 1924, the illegal occupation of Muslim land as in
Afghanistan and Iraq, the giving away of Muslim land such as Palestine
and Kashmir, the support of tyrant regimes in Muslim countries, the
imprisonment of innocent Muslims and the introduction of many draconian
laws targeted at Muslims.
Historically
the British policy to target sincere scholars in India, Malta etc. has
been well documented, today they are intentionally targeting activists
like Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammad who always called for Muslims to
propagate Islam and to observe the covenant of security where the life
and wealth of the non-muslims is secure in return for the life and
wealth of Muslims being secure. This raises the important question as
to whether the British government wishes to remain in a covenant of
security with Muslims.

NOTE: It has come to our attention once again that the kufr governments and regimes are trying hard to recruit Muslims to spy on their fellow brethren. Obviously, they will give it other names so as to justify the spying and offer bountiful of rewards for such actions. If one were to look at the action itself and see where it falls under in Islam, surely they would know that any from of spying on another Muslim is HARAAM.
